Canned Idea 1

This is a concept that was abandonned halfway through writing A Maverick's Tale. Just as every animaloid had a signature weapon, Mach Cheetah could fire a large yoyo on a wire from the vents on his arms that could effectively be used as a concussion projectile or a grappling hook to help him bank at high speeds. I used a yoyo instead of a more conventional tool because I thought it illustrated Mach's playful personality better.

It seemed like a good idea at the time, but as the script progressed, I discovered to my surprise that there were practically no justifiable situations to put it to good use. Nil. Nada. Zilch. Zip. Nothing. Nowt. Not a sausage. Any situation where Mach would require such a weapon could easily be replaced by a suitable object nearby. So the idea became redundant, and in the end it was dropped entirely. I may still change my mind if you clap really hard and cheer "I believe in you, Glitcher!", but otherwise this is one innovation you won't be seeing. Darn shame that.
