This was one of the most touching scenes I've seen in the comic in a long time for so many reasons. After the staggering flashbacks and confusion Rotor and Antoine experienced, I expected something similar for Bunnie. What I got instead was a deeply sympathetic moment where the visuals spoke for themselves without any word balloons to clutter up the page. It was a wonderful instance that expressed the close bond the Freedom Fighters share, not just on the battlefield, but for emotional support. I'm also delighted that Ian Flynn addressed the consequence of Bunnie being roboticized again, a topic that I explored in an earlier painting. I was afraid the continuity shift would just gloss over the change, but Bunnie realizes she lost her chance to be normal again, and I'm glad her husband was there to help her through it. It was such a beautiful scene and I couldn't resist painting this when I saw it.
On a related subject, Nicole mentions in the same issue that she only has enough power left to restore the memory of one more Freedom Fighter: Sally or Amy. The question is, who will Sonic choose? His first instinct may be to prioritize the love of his life, but Bunnie's breakdown shows that there are repercussions to remembering a hard life, and none have had it harder recently than Sally. After being roboticized and forced to fight her friends, what kind of effect will restoring her memories have on her, and is that something Sonic is willing to risk? Do you think he should still hand Nicole over to Sally, or would Amy be the better choice?

Antoine regaining their memories beautifully. The transition of shades is seamless, the detailing on the grass and shrubs is spectacular, the clarity of the 'memories' in the background are beautifully illustrated and capture the events as they appeared in the comics with your own flare and the overall picture is breathtaking and heart-wrenching if your a true Archie fan like myself.
If I had to give a criticism, I suppose two things come to mind:
One, Sonic and Tails. I can't quite put it into short words, but they seem kinda... odd. It just appears that Sonic and Tails' anatomy and posture give off a strange, sluggish look (perhaps it's because to me, Tails seemed arched like he's puffin out his chest, and that the shading on the top and crown of Sonic's head looks visually misleading, like there's extra flesh on his topmost quill.)
Two, the gradient transition of the background sunset seems mostly dominant by purples and barely any orange or blues to insinuate a sunset at all, unless your goal was as close to a breadth of sun as possible (this seems further skewed by the transparent memories, which make it harder to see the gradient if this weren't the case.
And as a quasi-third, I suppose the facial lighting towards the right side of the picture on Ant and Bunnie throws me off a bit. I absolutely love the effect, don't get me wrong, but shouldn't there be a cool-colored light like the moon showing to give that glow off? I could easily be off my rocker saying this, but it just strikes me as odd.
All in all, it's a fantastic piece that truly captures the trail mix bag of colliding emotions and experiences that occurred in recent issues (not going into it for those who don't want spoilers) and was handled with great care and passion.
This is perhaps one of your most spectacular pieces.
Now then, whoa boy where do I start with this picture?
How about the layouts? The layout is very well done indeed. Nothing is obscured needlessly and the sizing and proportioning of the characters, backgrounds and overall picture is done so brilliantly that we see everything that needs to be seen, thus making it easy on the eyes and easy to make out.
The colouring? MAGNIFICENT. This is simply beautiful to look at from the colouring alone. The lighting and shading looks phenomenal and I swear the grass almost looks like it's painted rather than drawn. The lighting gives off a rather warm atmosphere and the shading compliments the lighting to a T. The colouring of the flashbacks is well done too, looking less "solid" than the picture below and even having some fading in places so it looks like flashback scenes. Very well done indeed.
The expressions? To say you're good at them is an understatement. Your expressions are incredible. I can just look at this picture and tell what the characters are thinking straight away. Bunnie looks appropriately emotional and distressed over the old memories she's gotten from being "Nicole'd" and Antoine's face is appropriately comforting and kind looking. That face already tells me what he's saying, "Ssssh mon ami, it is being alright ma love." Even the flashback are alive with character because of the great emotional expressions on their faces.
I really do have to ask how you did the flashback pictures. Did you do this one picture first, then do the flashbacks and stick them both together? If so then the technique really does work here. It looks amazing to say the least.
Overall, this picture gets an all round perfect 10/10. Gitcher, you are a TRUE artist. Keep up the magnificent work.
I love this so much <3<3
So basically, the links I post in the description are for the PGN videos. But if I want to upload it to YouTube, I either edit the PGN playback in Sony Vegas or record my own playback in openCanvas with a screencam like HyperCam and add some music in Vegas. Hope this helps, be sure to let me see what you come up with.
It's hard to decide whether Ian will choose Sally or Amy to be restored.
In the latest Sonic Universe when Amy and Cream return home, Amy mentions that things seem a bit off. So maybe she still has her old memories, otherwise she would think things appeared normal like Tails did before his memory was restored. Therefore, they wouldn't need to use Nicole on her.
However, if that's not the case, then Ian will have to choose Amy simply for priority reasons. She's a SEGA character, so she has to have the first dibs on stuff like this. Otherwise, if he chose Sally over Amy, then things just wouldn't seem right in the story.
Plus, with the new reality, Ian might be getting rid of Elias and Alicia. So if he were restore Sally's memory of the old world, then she would remember them, and a whole new situation would arise.
I still hope Sally gets her memory back somehow. I don't want her to forget her old feelings for Sonic, especially since they JUST STARTED going out again!
I still dislike the whole in-universe-reboot thing. Most of the new designs aren't doing it for me and it really stinks to leave so many of the old plot points in the dust, ESPECIALLY missing out on such a climactic moment as reclaiming Mecha Sally. The good guys were due for a win and we never got to see it.
