This is an illustration of a Pokemon fanfic I wrote eons ago (which, praise be, I never uploaded). I was aiming to give this picture a rich texture overlay like some of the best artists do, but I couldn't really pull it off without ruining the details. At least I'm pleased with the colours and despite its shortcomings, it remains one of my favourite pictures. This is probably the only sketch I've ever done that didn't need tweaking of any kind. :)

IMO, Misty should never have left. When Misty bid her adieu only to be replaced by May, I came to the cynical conclusion that the writers don't give two shits about the humans in this show. It's just a showcase for the latest Pokémon without any real character development. Once an avid follower, I quit watching immediately. Bring back Misty!

Hopefully Ash doesn't yank the covers off of Misty XD
It would without a doubt result in screaming and a lot of blood on the floor. And then poor Nurse Joy would have to clean it up...
Anyways, nice picture! I really love it, it's one of my favorite Pokeshipping pictures! :D Like some commenter said a while back, the sunlight looks like the kind that's nice to wake up to. Wunderbar lighting and detail. The characters look a lot like they do in the show.
Just wondering, how long did it take you to draw it?

Ha! Thanks for the funny comment. I can't remember how long it took to draw this; it was four years ago. But I do remember having a lot of fun because I improvised it at a hotel during my first trip to London. It's a rare case of a sketch that required no clean up and I still have it saved. :D

I've always supported the Ash/Misty relationship and the episode where he let her have his bed while he slept on the floor always clicked for me as symbolic of something being between them.
