STH #243: While Team Fighters was pursuing the Death Egg over Albion, Metal Knuckles was deployed to stop them. He was fended off, but the Tornado was damaged and crash-landed in the city.

STH #222: During Knuckles' visit to New Mobotropolis, Nicole and Espio brought him to the Science Center where Dimitri had sought asylum. Despite a strained reunion, Dimitri insisted he has changed his ways, and Knuckles took him back to Angel Island to atone for his mistakes.

STH #173: This took some digging. Julie-Su first used her antenna to contact the Freedom Fighters when Knuckles reported that Nack was hunting Rouge. Sonic was the only one of Team Fighters to witness this, so only he would know about the antenna. This reference demonstrates that Sonic is still smart enough to find technical solutions if the need arises. I guess hanging around Tails and Rotor rubbed off on him.


So here's where we start to catch up on the general status of Team Fighters and the echidnas. It's been a while since fans last read anything from the original timeline, so I wanted to spare a few pages to bring everyone up to speed and indicate where things are going from here. A lot of background detail went into this page, which is something I always urge other comic artists focus on. Most Deviants cut too many corners to avoid drawing backgrounds, but I feel it enriches the story by providing more context to the setting. It deserves attention.
