Friends, countrymen, Deviants! Lend me your ears! I have important news concerning Sonic Retold, its Patreon page, and my own welfare.

Right now I'm struggling to maintain my weekly work schedule on the comic because I'm fighting to stave off ruin. This month has been especially hard in the commissions department for various reasons. My rent is due on March 1st and I have nowhere near the funds necessary to cover it. While I look around for things to sell, I've revised my Patreon rewards. The higher tiers are empty, so I've eliminated most of them and moved the final reward to a $15 tier:

Limited to four Patrons! YOU get to write a 3-4 panel gag strip to be drawn by me at the end of every issue of Sonic Retold! Introduce your own character if you like! (Sonic-themed is encouraged, but I'll also accept unrelated ideas.)

That's right! If I can get a few generous supporters to pledge $15 a month, they can help create an 'Off-Panel' page to close out issues of Sonic Retold. They'll also have access to hi-res pages, preview images, plus the script and storyboard for completed issues.

That's not all, I want to announce that the final scene of the current issue will predominantly feature the citizens of New Mobotropolis. That means crowd scenes, which means I need background characters. This is where you come in:

The next fifteen people who pledge in the $5 tier or higher can have their character featured among the crowd in Sonic Retold!

I'm saying 'fifteen people' for now as an estimate based on the amount of space I believe I'll have available. I may increase that if I get more pledgers, but I want to gauge the initial response first. So if you ever wanted your character to have a cameo appearance in my comic, now is your chance!

I need to take a brief break at the end of the current scene to give myself time to catch up, so I'll be uploading a new segment of my tutorial on a daily basis to fill the gap. This will happen around mid-March. I often get a lot of questions on what software I use and how I work, so my tutorial will cover that in-depth to teach you how to create a comic page like Sonic Retold from start to finish.

I've wanted to make this tutorial widely available for a while, but I wouldn't need to put the comic on hiatus for it if I had more funds. I cannot stress enough that these pledges are not a trivial bonus, they are essential to my welfare. I'm a poor man with nothing to offer except my commitment to keeping fans like you happy, but I can't do that if I'm destitute.
